JJ Abrams by Critical Drinker

@DrPokemon2001
"Modern" Star Wars really did ruin a lot of careers. "The future is female." ― Kathleen Kennedy

@zero_d0wn1
Drinker has found a rich vein of content with this series. Well done lad.

@brainflash1
"So what are your qualifications for writing Star Trek?"
"I wrote a sci-fi tv show."
"Was it any good?"
"Can I have Star Wars too?"

@ReddFoxx1562
I was "bullied" by friends and family for saying that Lost, in its first season, seemed like it was just bullshit that was made to seem interesting and will probably go nowhere. Hey kind of like everything they fund these days. Nobody remembered that I said this years later. I still refuse to watch the rest of it.

@brianday873
I’ll never forget my then 9-year-old grandson's words as we left the Odeon Leicester Square having seen Rise of Skywalker on opening day. “That was shite”

@Kant3n
If there's one positive thing I can say about Abrams is that he directs a film competently on the technical level, but he needs to be barred from the writers room.

@genebaker511
After The Rise of Palpatine, JJ finally opened the mystery box, and it revealed the end of his career.

@orkutfinance
Everything by Jar Jar Abrams
1. Whole plot reference to the original source material with a lot of nostalgia bait.
2. Mystery Box writing, where plot twists are answered with more plot twists.
3. When plot twists are too confusing, just pull out more references to the past.
4. Never answer anything.

@HeisenbergFam
Crazy to think Star Wars went from one of the most beloved to the most mocked movie series

@josephhutton7574
When JJ was announced to do Episode VII, I just thought, "Hey, the guy who created LOST! What a fun set up for a show! The ending was garbage but.. wait..."

@muznick
MOAR LENS FLARES!

@doublep1980
The guy is a Hollywood Nepo Baby. His father is one of the biggest TV producers and a former CEO of CBS. Don't feel sorry for him.

@BillPeschel
You can see that as soon as audiences realized he was all foreplay and no climax, he would crash and burn. The man has absolutely no storytelling chops.

@Galen052
It's fascinating how many of these Crash and Burn stories are about people who've worked for Disney in high profile roles the past 5-10 years.

@kyleg1464
"A walking example of the dunning-kruger effect. You can only hide your shortcomings for so long before people finally figure out who and what you are." Truer words were never spoken.

He was once the king of big budget blockbusters, the chosen successor of Steven Spielberg, the man who rejuvinated not one but two of the biggest franchises in Hollywood... Star Trek AND Star Wars! Then it all came crashing down. Join me as I recount the rise and fall of JJ Abrams.
