AI RAM Wars by Vanessa Wingårdh

@margonaut
"Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich”

@Sean-ky8dw
When 10 people control the world, you know we have a problem.

@ordinarymartian40
All of this for a search engine with a chat interface and AI sexbots. Good luck to us, I guess

@Erik-cv4tm
I hate when these AI billionaire bros talk about how AI will bring abundance. We already have an abundance of resources asshole, the problem is that it is concentrated to the top 1% and I see no desire from you to change that.

@scottwilliams5196
Altman looks like a psychopath. I know that isn't scientific, but I'm pretty sure.

@henson2k
AI is a tool to steal from 99% of the people. Worst part of OpenAI deal that taxpayers will pay inflated prices.

@EMeadow
High prices. high mortgage rates. high inflation. High property taxes. High property insurance. Guess we are well on the road to subscription services for everything! Thanks WEF!

@maynnemillares
I want Scamuel Altman to be put behind bars, in a similar way as Scamuel Bankman-Freid.

@skytrailwarrior8326
Just remember to not say or think anything incriminating around your fridge.

@foobar-c2j
This will go down as one of the dumbest moves in economic history

@errlybird1264
They are centralizing the internet through massive data centers. In the future, our devices will be useless "dumb terminals" that require both a monthly rental subscription and a constant connection to their servers. Through coordinated efforts, they are systematically removing consumer-friendly, DIY devices from the market.

@daveferger9947
Putting a memory chip in everything isn't progress it's corporate tyranny. And politicians are supposed to be leaders. They're smart enough to know that this is tyranny. So they are willfully negligent of their responsibility to "promote the general welfare".

@JM-cb2hw
They did what they do best, print dollars, give it to billionaires and dilute the rest of us.

@MrStormShield
Everything becomes smarter and people become even dumber. Not good times ahead for regular folks.

@dagg497
170%? RAM memory is up 450% in Sweden!! Sweden has always had the worst market economy, everything goes up more in price than elsewhere and it never drops

@MichaelPickles
Don't forget they said nuclear power would make electricity so cheap it would hardly be worth charging for it

@genes.3285
I can remember when we had a useful piece of legislation called the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890, aimed at price collusion and restraint of trade. Also, the Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914. Although they are still in effect, their enforcement became ideological.

RAM prices are up 171%, outpacing gold. Sam Altman locked up 40% of global memory supply for AI. Micron just exited the consumer market. Now we get to pay more for electronics with less storage and memory.
