What Baldur’s Gate 3 also proves is that if a publisher has an unexpected huge success and they don’t cash in but rather use that success to make the game better than they could afford before, then players give back.

I like how Swen can basically say “git gud” to the industry without coming off as being full of himself, because he and Larian EARNED their win. They are clearly gamers making games for people who like games. They earned every victory lap they choose to make when they talk about the industry. I really hope their next game is as big a success, not because I want another good game, but because I want Larian to be known as the company that makes good games as if it was the 2000s again.
