This man is honestly more a spiritual teacher than a lawyer. This conversation is mostly about wisdom in my opinion.

The suburb of Vauban in Freiburg in Germany, where I am from, is even named after Sébastien Vauban. His work included old fortress ruins of the city, as well as the fortess of Neuf-Brisach in the Alsace, which appears on the very east of the map at the end of the video and is not far away.
@grandmanitou6563
Not only was Vauban the supreme grandmaster in fort creation, he was also the greatest of all time when it came to take fortresses down and truly perfected the art of siegecraft both in offense and defense.
@Echoak95
It is missing one of the oldest, biggest and most important Star forts, Vienna. After the first Siege of Vienna, Italian stonemasons spent 100 years building one of the biggest fortresses in the world; right up until the second siege of Vienna. The walls were over 9 km long and had dozens of bastions, which led to one of the biggest sieges in history.
The history of Star forts is super interesting - they sit in Europe (and around the world; look at St. Augustine) as visual artefacts of a literal Medieval/Renaissance arms race. Learning about them teaches us about technological innovations that ended the medieval period and created the groundwork for the modern era. It also shows how crucial the cannon was as an invention of late medieval warfare.

Don’t stop holding their feet to the fire. Every American needs to watch this. Great testimony Tyler, thank you.
@huntercarroll124
I was there for the withdrawal as a medic in the 82nd at HKIA. We were ordered to do a police call of the area even after the attack on the 26th. Paratroopers picking up trash out in the open within 200m of the Taliban and ISIS-K. Leadership during this withdrawal was horrendous and I’m still in disbelief about how it went down.
@oscarthegrouchinTX
As a Marine vet, Thank you, Shawn, for exposing all the BS in failed leadership. Nothing but respect for this Marine and all the sacrifices he's made for our country. Semper Fi. Love the show, sir.
@andrewmartin7106
This one hurts so much. This administration has the blood of 13 service members, 1000s of afghans, and my buddy who killed himself because what he saw out there, on its hands. 45+ servicemembers wounded. My bro who was the chillest dude ever, can't sleep anymore because of what he saw here. And nobody is doing anything about it.
@JP-qh9lc
I Appreciate you covering this topic. RIP fellow Marines. Never forgotten
@gregwilson1613
Going straight to the uncensored version. I'm an Afghan vet and the fact that they are censoring this is even more infuriating. Adding insult to injury. Thank you for the work you are doing Shawn
@cal9220
Tyler this quote was written for you over 1000 years ago... "No carelessness in your actions. No confusion in your words. No imprecision in your thoughts. No retreating into your own soul or trying to escape it." ― Marcus Aurelius
The United States withdrew the last of its troops from Afghanistan in August of 2021, signaling the end of a nearly 20 year conflict that cost 8 trillion dollars and the lives of 900,000 people, including over 7,000 U.S. Service Members. The U.S. exit from Afghanistan resulted in the Taliban reestablishing armed control of the country and created a refugee crisis as over 1.5 Million Afghans fled. The withdrawal has been widely considered a disaster and a gross display of incompetent leadership from the President down, echoing similar failures seen at Saigon nearly half a century earlier.
SRS is honored to present the story and view point from one of the Marines on the ground in Kabul, just days before the last U.S. Embassy fell. On August 26th, Tyler Vargas-Andrews was gravely wounded by a suicide bombing at the gates of Kabul's Airport, ultimately losing two limbs as a result of his injuries. This premeditated attack killed 60 Afghans and 13 U.S. Service Members.
@Tekisasubakani
The silver lining in it being cancelled after one season... it'll never be ruined, it'll always be the work of art that it is.
@krisdoe3739
"What does that make us?"
"Big damn heroes, sir."
"Ain't we just."

Never would've thought the Drinker could get me all misty-eyed, but he did this time. RIP Firefly.
Though it aired for only a single season in 2002, Firefly developed a passionate fan following that has kept its legacy alive for over two decades. This unique science fiction western resonated with viewers through its perfect blend of genres, memorable characters, and sharp writing that balanced humor with heartfelt storytelling.
At its core, Firefly stood out by merging the adventurous spirit of a space opera with the rugged aesthetic of a Wild West frontier tale. This creative fusion gave the show a distinct identity, setting it apart from conventional sci-fi offerings. The universe felt lived-in and authentic, from the battered spaceship Serenity to the outer planets where civilization's grip was tenuous at best.
Much of the show's charm came from its exceptional crew of characters and their dynamic. Captain Mal Reynolds led his ragtag team with a mix of cynical wit and unshakable loyalty, embodying the show's anti-authority spirit. The crew's banter, written with Joss Whedon's signature sharp dialogue, created a sense of genuine camaraderie that made viewers feel like part of the found family. Each character, from the fiercely competent Zoe to the mysterious River Tam, was layered with complexities that unfolded naturally over time.
Firefly also mastered the delicate balance between tones. One moment could deliver laugh-out-loud humor through the crew's interactions, while the next could pivot to high-stakes action or poignant drama. This emotional range, combined with the show's willingness to explore moral gray areas, gave it remarkable depth despite its short run.
The show's cancellation after just 14 episodes only strengthened fan devotion. The injustice of its premature ending galvanized the "Browncoat" fandom into keeping Firefly alive through conventions, fan campaigns, and eventual continuation through comics and the Serenity movie. Even years later, the series remains beloved for its perfect storm of witty writing, compelling characters, and that undefinable "shiny" quality that makes it endlessly rewatchable. Firefly proved that a show's impact isn't measured in seasons, but in the loyalty it inspires—and by that metric, it soared.

Yo dawg, we heard you liked carriers, so we put your carriers on a carrier, and now we have a super-carrier carrying carriers!
@Avardent-h4z
Paul you completely nailed the techniques for making everything look so ludicrously MASSIVE. So many times in movies we see things that are supposed to be big but don't look like it. I loved every shot, every color choice and greeble on each machine. The monologues were great too
@Wodan0290
I would rather pay 20 bucks to see a full feature movie like this than the shit we see nowadays. No bullshit, just hardcore scifi.

The concept of "sufficiency" as taught by King Rama IX of Thailand refers to "Sufficiency Economy", a philosophy emphasizing moderation, prudence, and resilience in life and economic activities. It encourages individuals, communities, and the nation to live within their means, use resources wisely, and prepare for future uncertainties.
